For your
month-long stay in St. Louis, there are several options available to
you in terms of your housing needs.
Dormitory Housing
The most
convenient option, and the one we strongly recommend, is to stay in the
newly built Washington University dormitory facility which is located
in the Small Group Housing #3 building, at the corner of Big Bend
Boulevard and Forest Park Parkway at the end of campus. This building
is within a block of the Law School in Anheuser-Busch Hall, where
sessions will be held, and also adjacent to a parking garage. Single
rooms run $39/per night and include a linen service. Rooms include a
twin bed frame and mattress, chest of drawers, and desk. Two floor
plans are available: A room in a four-room suite with two
bathrooms or a room in a two-room suite with one bathroom. The building
has a living room area with a large screen television, many common areas with
chairs/tables, mailboxes, and an ATM. There is a laundry facility on
the premises as well and many vending machines for your convenience.
The building overlooks a large courtyard and guests have access to an
in-ground pool next door.

Off-Campus Housing
The
Off-Campus Housing Department of Washington University in St. Louis
oversees, through its managing agent Parkview Properties Inc.,
apartment buildings north and northeast of the Hilltop Campus (within
walking distance).

Political Science/Economic Graduate Student Shared Housing
Later in
the year, we will send out a mass email to graduate students here in
both the Political Science and Economics departments asking their
interest in either subletting an apartment or sharing with someone for
the term of the Summer Institute. Once we hear back from interested
parties, we will post a list of their emails on our website that you
can query them and get directly in touch with those interested in
sharing and/or subletting space. The website address is

styled as an Olde English Inn and is located near Washington
University, about a 25 minute walk to campus. The Lodge provides
